EPC for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Contract awarded. M/s SPML is the selected bidder. Designs work initiated.
The work order secured by SPML Infra in late 2016, included scope of work like construction of a water treatment plant, clear water reservoir, master balancing reservoir and pumping stations and entails the operation and maintenance at the facility. As per the contract document, the construction cost of the plant would be Rs 94.85 crore.
Potable water (water for drinking and other human purposes) is the basic essential requirement for any development. A water treatment plant (WTP) has been planned in Dholera SIR Area to receive and treat the raw water.
Water Treatment Plant (WTP) will provide the basic requirement of potable water for the industrial, residential, commercial and other developments in Activation area, and eventually the Phase-I development of the DSIR.
Dholera SIR Activation area requires the development of sewage collection and treatment systems as essential facilities for the development.
Also, there will be recycled water distribution system with the treated water from the STP as the recycled water will reduce the load on the potable water demand.
The provision of the Sewage Treatment Plant within the Activation Area will provide tertiary level treated Recycled Water for use in non-potable applications for residential, commercial & other areas and hence reduce the overall demand of make-up water for the Activation Area, thereby, setting a standard to be followed for future development within the DSIR. A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is required in the Activation Area of the Dholera SIR to receive and treat the domestic sewage.
