38% progress in Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway: Gujarat CM during the meeting of Apex Committee of NICDP

This second meeting of the Apex Committee was held in New Delhi in the presence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Industry and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. Apart from Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the Chief Ministers and Industry Ministers of Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand joined the meeting through virtual means.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed his gratitude for the support given by the Central Government to Dholera SIR to make the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi a reality. The Chief Minister said in this meeting that an SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) named Dholera Industrial City Development Limited has been formed with the support of the state and central governments to create infrastructure facilities in the activation area of Dholera SIR.
Giving details about the progress of Dholera SIR activities in the meeting, he said that the construction of infrastructure facilities in this activation area is nearing completion, and the process of allotment of land to entrepreneurs through SPV has also started. Various proposals have been received to develop schools, hospitals, hotels, residential townships, etc. in Dholera SIR. 600 units will be built on PMAY’s affordable rental housing model in the activation area.
He mentioned that more than 38 percent progress has been made in the Ahmedabad-Dholera Motorway under construction by NHAI (the National Highway Authority of India) under the Bharat Mala project and said that the Gujarat government will provide all necessary assistance to NHAI to complete the project within the time limit. In addition to this, Dholera SIR has the benefit of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) for overall development. A Bhimnath-Dholera railway line project has been planned to connect it, he said. The Chief Minister said that under this project, the Ahmedabad-Botad Broad Gauge Railway Line from Bhimnath Station to Gholera SIR has been approved by the Central Government and the State Government. Dholera’s development plan, land, and infrastructure details are geo-referenced and mapped on the PM Gati Shakti Gujarat portal.
The Chief Minister also added that the total land acquisition required for the Bhimnath-Dholera railway line for this purpose is in the final stages and will be completed at the earliest. The Chief Minister requested the Union Finance Minister for guidance from the Apex Authority from time to time to complete the Dholera Airport and Ahmedabad-Dholera Motorway within the time limit. He also requested that the necessary approval be given for the Ahmedabad-Dholera semi-high-speed train project. The Chief Minister also requested the concerned authority to take the necessary action to include the Mandal Bacharaji Special Investment Region in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project.
